Infobox religious leader is an infobox to be used for religious teachers or leaders of any faith. To use this infobox, copy and paste the infobox code in the usage section into the article. Add values to any parameter fields that apply. Most parameters are general, and apply to any religion. There are several parameters that only apply to one specific religion. Any parameter left blank will not be displayed.

Parameters

  • religion: Major religion group. Examples: Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Islam, Jewish, etc.
  • religion_type: Religion sub-type. Examples: Denomination, Sect, Branch, etc.
    • religion_name: Name of religion type.
  • location_type: Worship location type. Examples: Church, Temple, Mosque, Synagogue, etc.
    • location_name: Name of location type.
  • office: Current or last office. Examples: Deacon, Imam, Monk, Nun, Priest, Rabbi, Swami, etc.
  • began and ended: Dates started and stopped serving in office. Only used if office is entered.
  • predecessor: Person who previously held this office.
  • successor: The next person to hold this office.
  • other_posts: Other postings or positions held.
  • honors: Any titles, honors or awards received.
  • known_for: Any well known event or activity.
  • written_works: Any written work.
  • quote: Any well known quote.


  • For Hindu leaders:
    • guru: This person's guru.
    • disciple: This person's disciple.
    • philosophy: School of thought.
