Jack Napier, also known as The Joker is the main villain of the movie Batman 1989 and based on the DC Comics character of the same name. He was played by Jack Nicholson.
Fictional biography
He was a criminal working for crime boss Carl Grissom, but he was set up at the chemical plant, and Batman intervened, which caused him to fall into a vat of chemicals, turning him into the Joker, now angry at the world for his disfigurement, Batman must stop him.
Reception
Jack Nicholson's portrayal of the character was well-liked by critics and praised by fans, his quote "Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?" has been long associated with the character.
