The Saint of Bleecker Street
The Saint of Bleecker Street is a three-act opera with words and music by Gian Carlo Menotti. It was first performed at The Broadway Theatre in New York City on December 27, 1954. The opera won the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 1955 and the New York Drama Critics Circle award for best musical. The opera is about a young woman in New York City's Little Italy who receives the stigmata.
