Torness Nuclear Power Station
Torness nuclear power station was the last of the United Kingdom's second generation nuclear power stations to be commissioned. It has two Advanced gas-cooled reactors. Construction began in 1980 and was completed in 1988. It is a local landmark and is highly visible from the main A1 road and East Coast Main Line railway.
