TransLink (British Columbia)
TransLink (formerly South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority) is a Canadian transportation authority. It is based in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia and they are responsible for most of the public transportation in the region. TransLink runs buses, the SkyTrain, the West Coast Express, SeaBuses, and the HandyDART.
On January 1, 1998, the organization was created by the Government of British Columbia under the name Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority. It started to be used April 1999 and replaced the former BC Transit which now serves everywhere in British Columbia except Greater Vancouver.[1] George Puil was also named as the first Chairman of TransLink with Ken Dobell becoming the first CEO.[2]
On July 19, 2021, Kevin B. Quinn was named as the CEO of TransLink.[3] He was the CEO of the Maryland Transit Administration from 2017 until 2020.[4]
In 2022, they reported to have a budget of $2.03 billion.[5]
