21 is the second studio album by English singer Adele. It was released on January 19, 2011. It sold 208,000 copies in the first week it was released. It went straight to number one in the UK Albums Chart. In the fourth week that 21 had been number one Adele sang "Someone Like You" at the 2011 BRIT Awards. Amazon.co.uk reported that the album increased in sales by 890% an hour after Adele's performance.[1]

It has sold over 20,000,000 copies worldwide as of May 2012. The singles "Rolling in the Deep", "Someone Like You", and "Set Fire to the Rain" have all reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. 21 has won many Grammy Awards including Album of the Year.

21 has sold over 11.648 million copies in the United States alone[2] and is the best-performing album in Billboard history.[3]
