Twister is a 1996 American disaster movie set in Oklahoma. It starred Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton as "storm chasers", people who follow tornadoes to learn about them. It was directed by Jan de Bont. The movie was based upon a script by Michael Crichton and his wife, former actress Anne-Marie Martin.
