Type 98 320 mm mortar

Lua error in Module:Unicode_data at line 293: attempt to index local 'data_module' (a boolean value)., also known as a "32-cm" gun,[1] was a mortar of the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA).[2] It is an example of a type of artillery called "spigot mortars".[3]

History

This artillery piece was used by the Japanese military during World War II.[4]

Combat record

During World War II, the IJA had 12 Type 98s at the Battle of Iwo Jima.[5]

The Type 98 mortars were also used on Okinawa.[4]
