Vas is an administrative county in Hungary. The capital of Vas county is Szombathely. It is in the western part of the country. It borders with Austria (Burgenland), Slovenia (Mura Statistical Region), and the Hungarian counties of Győr-Moson-Sopron, Veszprém and Zala. In 2019, 253,551 people lived there. Its area is 3,336 km².
