Vehicle registration plates of Italy
Italian car number plates used to show the place in Italy where the car carrying them has been registered. Now, Italian car number plates have black characters on a rectangular white background, with a small blue part on the right and left. In the current system, which number a car's license gets has nothing to do with where the car's owner lives.
