Woody Thompson
Woodrow Charles Thompson (born May 24, 1975) is an American attorney and activist. He is the father of Ronan Thompson, and is best known as the founder and president of The Ronan Thompson Foundation.

Early life
Woodrow Charles Thompson was born in Phoenix, Arizona on May 24, 1975. His parents are Charles Thompson and Kay Thompson.[1]
Thompson attended Arizona State University; graduating with his Bachelor of Applied Arts in mathematics in 1998 and with his Juris Doctor in 2001. While studying at ASU, he served as a student lobbyist, providing a student voice in Washington D.C., the Arizona State Legislature and the Arizona Board of Regents. He was admitted to the bar by the in the United States District of Arizona in 2001.[2]
Career
Thompson is a criminal defense attorney at Gallagher & Kennedy. He has previously worked in complex commercial litigation, products liability, and intellectual property law.[2]
Activism
Thompson has raised over US$1 million for childhood cancer research since 2010.[3]
The Ronan Foundation
Thompson launched The Ronan Thompson Foundation in May 2011. He is also the president.[4][3] The Foundation is dedicated to funding clinical trials to create more effective treatments and ultimately to find a cure for childhood cancer.[5]
Television
Thompson and his wife have appeared on the talk show Katie. The episode was broadcast on October 25, 2012.[6][7]
Personal life
Thompson married Maya Weedman, a writer and activist, on December 29, 2001.[8] They have four children together, three of whom are living; twins Liam Alexander and Quinn Woodrow (born on June 10, 2003),[9]Ronan Sean (2007–2011),[4][1] and Poppy Ronan (born April 8, 2013).[10] Ronan died from Stage IV Neuroblastoma at Phoenix Children's Hospital on May 9, 2011, three days before his fourth birthday.[4][1] They reside in Scottsdale, Arizona.[11]
