There is no solid evidence about what the future of humanity would be in 2980, however based on current events Earth will likely be much warmer due to global warming, AI could be prevalent across the world, new forms of government and ideologies could emerge, new languages may develop while present languages have died out, and in a worst-case scenario, humans could have been completely wiped out or disappeared due to an extinction event.
