Asbury Park, New Jersey
Asbury Park is a city in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. It is next to the Atlantic Ocean on the Jersey Shore. Asbury Park is part of the New York City Metropolitan Area. In the 2010 United States Census, the city population was 16,116.

Asbury Park started as a borough on March 26, 1874. It included parts of Ocean Township. Asbury Park became a city as of March 25, 1897.[9]
The city is known for music. Bruce Springsteen comes from the city and started his career there. The New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium called Asbury Park the sixth best beach in New Jersey in the 2008 Top 10 Beaches Contest.[10]

Vacant streets were a common sight in the 1980s and 1990s.
Former Howard Johnson's renovated and reopened in summer 2007 as Salt Water Beach Cafe on the boardwalk in Asbury Park.
