Aurora is a city in Cloud County, Kansas, United States. In 2020, 56 people lived there.[3]

History
In 1887, Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway built a railroad from Neva (3 miles west of Strong City) through Aurora to Superior, Nebraska. In 1996, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway merged with Burlington Northern Railroad. It was renamed to the current BNSF Railway. Most locals still call this railroad the "Santa Fe".
Aurora was named by settlers who came from Aurora, Illinois.[4]
The first post office in Aurora was created in 1886. From 1886 until 1888, the post office was called St. Peter.[5]
Geography
Aurora is at 39°27′7″N 97°31′47″W / 39.45194°N 97.52972°W (39.451924, -97.529846). The United States Census Bureau says that the city has a total area of 0.10 square miles (0.26 km2). All of it land and no water.[2]

2020 census
The 2020 census reported 56 people, 13 households, and 7 families living in Aurora. All of the households owned their home.
The median age was 30.5 years. Of the people, 98.2% were White, and 1.8% were two or more races. None were Hispanic or Latino.[3][6]
2010 census
The 2010 census reported 60 people, 24 households, and 17 families living in Aurora.[7]
