Boris Valábik
Boris Valábik (born February 14, 1986) is a Slovak television presenter, personality, former professional ice hockey defenceman and police officer. He played 80 games in the National Hockey League (NHL). He played for the Atlanta Thrashers.

He also played for HC Kometa Brno of the Czech Extraliga (ELH) and ŠHK 37 Piešťany of the Slovak Extraliga (SVK).
Career
Before playing in the NHL, Valábik played 3 seasons with the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
Valábik was drafted with the 10th overall pick by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He played 2 seasons with the Thrashers' AHL affiliate Chicago Wolves and was able to win the Calder Cup with them in 2007 before he was called up to the main roster in November 2008. He would play 80 games with the thrashers before he was traded along with Rich Peverley to the Boston Bruins in exchange for Blake Wheeler and Mark Stuart.[1] He played with their AHL-affiliate Providence Bruins.
On July 3, 2011, Valábik signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins.[2] However, he wouldn't play a game with them after he was injured during training camp.[3]
On August 14, 2012, Valábik signed a contract with HC Kometa Brno of the Czech Extraliga (ELH).[4]
In 2017, Valábik decided to retire from playing professional ice hockey.
In September 2024, Valábik became the sport presenter for TV JOJ.[5]
