It is located on Upper Clapton Road.
It links Upper Clapton to Liverpool Street in central London and Chingford.
Clapton is on a branch, that is close to the Gospel Oak to Barking Riverside line, of the Lea Valley Lines. The branch adjacents Tottenham Hale and St James Street. The line joins up with the branch via Seven Sisters at Hackney Downs. Clapton services which stop do not serve the Tottenham Hale branch. Although Abellio Greater Anglia do also pass through Clapton railway station.
Clapton is in both Travelcard Zone 2 and Travelcard Zone 3.
