Sutton House was built in 1535.

St Augustine's Tower, Hackney. A former property of the Knights of St John dating from the 13th century, St Augustine's Tower is Hackney's oldest building. The tower is all that remains of the medieval parish church, which was demolished in 1798.
Hackney Town Hall was built in the 1930s for the former Metropolitan Borough of Hackney.
Stamford Hill, along with neighbouring West Hackney, Clapton and Stoke Newington, has a large Hasidic Jewish population.
