Diamanda Galás
Diamanda Galás (born August 29, 1955) is an American avant-garde artist.

Galás was born and raised in San Diego, California, to Greek Orthodox parents. In 1982 her first album was released. In 1988 Galás joined ACT UP. In 1996 a book she wrote called The .... of God was published. In 2005 Galás was given the Demetrio Stratos International Career Award.
