Donald Sinden
Sir Donald Alfred Sinden CBE FRSA (9 October 1923 – 11 September 2014) was a British actor and writer. He got early fame as a Rank Organisation movie actor in the 1950s. He later became a Shakespearian and West End theatre actor and television sitcom star. He starred in The Day of the Jackal (1973). He appeared in the television series Two's Company with American actress Elaine Stritch from 1975 until 1979. He and actor Windsor Davies starred in Never the Twain from 1981 until 1991. His final acting credit was in 2012.

Sinden was born at St Budeaux in Plymouth, Devon. He grew up in Ditchling, Sussex. He was married to actress Diana Mahony from 3 May 1948 until her death from cancer on 15 September 2004, aged 77. They had two sons, actor Jeremy Sinden (1950–1996) and producer Marc Sinden (born 1954). Jeremy died from lung cancer, aged 45.
Sinden died from prostate cancer on 11 September 2014 in Romney Marsh, Kent, aged 90.[1]
