Emmett is a city in Pottawatomie County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, 170 people lived there.[3]

History
The first post office in Emmett was created in November 1905.[4] The community was named for Robert Emmet, an Irish nationalist.[5]
Geography
Emmett is found at 39°18′26″N 96°03′27″W / 39.307314°N 96.057609°W (39.307314, -96.057609). The United States Census Bureau says the city has a total area of 0.20 square miles (0.52 km2). All of it is land.[2]

2020 census
The 2020 census said that there were 170 people, 65 households, and 44 families living in the city. Of the households, 78.5% owned their home and 21.5% rented their home.
The median age was 29.3 years. Of the people, 78.8% were White, 1.2% were Black, 0.6% were Native American, 0.6% were Asian, 4.1% were from some other race, and 14.7% were two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 7.6% of the people.[3][6]
2010 census
The 2010 census said that there were 191 people, 71 households, and 43 families living in the city.[7]
Education
Emmett is a part of USD 321 Kaw Valley. High school students attend St. Marys Jr/Sr High School in St. Marys. The St. Marys High School mascot is Bears.[8][9]
Emmett High School was closed through school unification. The Emmett High School mascot was Emmett Eagles.[10]
