Gurbanmuhammet Kasymow

Gurbanmuhammet Kasymow, also spelled Kurbanmuhammed Kasymov or Gurbanmukhammet Kasimov, (July 30, 1954 – September 2, 2021) was a Turkmen politician and lawyer. He worked in the cabinet of President of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov. He was Minister of Internal Affairs from 1993 to 1998, Minister of Defense from 1998 to 1999, and Minister of Justice from 1999 until 2001.[1][2]

He was an Ambassador to China from 2001 to 2008 and Ambassador to Kazakhstan from 2008 until 2009.

Kasymow died from problems caused by COVID-19 in Gokje, Turkmenistan on September 2, 2021, at the age of 68.[2]
