Iván de Pineda (Born, July 11, 1977)[1] is an Argentine-Spanish television presenter, model and actor.[2][3]

His modeling profession and his work as a host have led him to visit more than 650 cities around the world. He and his mother moved to Argentina after his father's death when he was a child.

He began her modeling career in 1994, walking for major international brands such as Versace, Gucci, Jean Paul Gaultier, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren and Trussardi, among others.[4]

His vast general culture, passion for reading and the five languages he speaks, have allowed him to acquire his own style as a TV presenter, which has been recognized by the Konex Foundation with the 2021 Platinum Konex Award for "best host of the decade".

Biography

He was born in Madrid, Spain, to an Argentinian mother and a Spanish father. At the age of seven, he moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he was raised by his mother and grandmother. He began his modeling career at the age of seventeen almost by chance.

In the 1990s, he became one of the most sought-after male models in the industry alongside Donatella Versace and Tom Ford. During those years, he also starred in iconic campaigns such as Gucci alongside Carmen Kass, and Dior alongside Sharon Stone.

In 2014, and for four years, he participated as a contestant on the quiz show Los 8 Escalones (The 8 Steps), hosted by Guido Kaczka in El Trece, where he surprised with his vast general knowledge, becoming the people's favorite celebrity contestant.

On January 21, 2016, he began hosting the successful television show Pasapalabra. It aired on El Trece until April 2020, and then moved to Telefe starting in March 2021.[5][6]

Personal life

De Pineda has been in a relationship with Luz Barrantes for twenty-six years.[7]
