John McLaughlin (March 29, 1927 – August 16, 2016) was an American television personality and producer, politician, writer, and political commentator. He created and hosts the long-running political commentary series The McLaughlin Group as well as John McLaughlin's One On One.[1] He also ran for senator of Rhode Island in 1970, but lost the election to incumbent John O. Pastore.
