Kevin Beattie

Thomas Kevin Beattie (18 December 1953 – 16 September 2018) was an English footballer. He played as a central defender. At a club level, he played most famously for Ipswich Town 307 times. He won the FA Cup in 1978 and UEFA Cup in 1981 with Ipswich. He has been called Ipswich Town's best ever player.[2] He played nine times for the England national team, scoring one goal. Other clubs he played for include Colchester United and Middlesbrough.

Beattie was born in Carlisle. He died of a heart attack on 16 September 2018 in Ipswich, Suffolk, aged 64.[3]
