Kollam temple fire
On 10 April 2016 at around 3:30 am Indian Standard Time, there was an explosion and fire at the Puttingal Temple in Paravur, Kollam, Kerala, India. The incident happened when firework celebrations went out of control. More than 100 people were killed. More than 350 were injured, some with severe burns.[1] The temple did not have permission from Kerala Government authorities to do a competitive fireworks display.[2]
