Lee Daniels

Lee Louis Daniels (born December 24, 1959)[1] is an American actor, movie producer and director. He produced Monster's Ball and directed the movie Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire.

He has received six Academy Award nominations, including Best Director for Precious. The movie won two of the awards.

In 2013, Daniels directed The Butler, a historical drama about the White House and its presidents during the 20th century. The movie had an ensemble cast. It received positive reviews and became a box office success.

Daniels lives in New York City. He is openly gay and adopted his biological niece and nephew.[2][3]
