Linwood Holton
Abner Linwood Holton, Jr. (September 21, 1923 – October 28, 2021) was an American and attorney. He served as the 61st Governor of Virginia. He served as governor from 1970 to 1974. He was the first Republican governor since Reconstruction.[1][2] Holton, Jr. was born in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.

His daughter, Anne Holton, is married to United States Senator of Virginia Tim Kaine.
Holton died on October 28, 2021 in Kilmarnock, Virginia at the age of 98.[3]
