Madrasa (Arabic: مدرسةcode: ar is deprecated , madrasa pl. مدارسcode: ar is deprecated , madāris) is the Arabic word for any type of educational institution, secular or religious (of any religion). It is variously transliterated as madrasah, madarasaa, medresa, madrassa, madraza, madarsa, madrasseh, etc.
