Mapai

Mapai, Hebrew: מפא"י , is a former Israeli political party. Mapai is an acronym for Mifleget Poalai Eretz Israel which is Hebrew for party of the proletariat of the land of Israel.

Its ideology was social democratic and Zionist.

Founders were David Ben-Gurion and Aaron David Gordon.

Mapai was established in the British Mandate of Palestine in 1930 and merged into HaAvoda in 1968.
