Nicktoons

Nicktoons are animated television shows which are produced by and aired on the children's television channel Nickelodeon. Prior to 1991, Nickelodeon aired mostly foreign made animated series. The idea for Nicktoons was formed in 1989[1] and on Sunday, August 11, 1991, the first Nicktoon, Doug, was aired followed by Rugrats and The Ren & Stimpy Show. This format was repeated every Sunday.

  2. This list does not include the Ren & Stimpy "Adult Party Cartoon" spin-off, as it was not produced under the Nickelodeon brand. In August 2020, the ViacomCBS-owned network Comedy Central green-lit a reboot of the series, which will likely also not be included on this list.
