Palomar Mountain

Palomar Mountain is a mountain ridge in the Peninsular Ranges in northern San Diego County, California. It is known for the Palomar Observatory.

Climate

The Köppen climate classification says that Palomar Mountain has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate. Oak, pine, fir and cedar trees grow there.

It rains an average of 33 inches (840 millimetres) a year. It snows 35 inches (890 millimetres) a year. The coldest temperature ever recorded was −4 °F (−20 °C) on 25 January 1949. The hottest was 110 °F (43 °C) on 22 August 1969.
