Paul Farmer
Paul Edward Farmer (October 26, 1959 – February 21, 2022) was an American medical anthropologist and physician. He was a professor at Harvard University and the chair of the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Farmer was the co-founder and chief strategist of Partners In Health (PIH). He was professor of medicine and chief of the Division of Global Health Equity at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Farmer died in his sleep from a heart attack in Butaro, Rwanda on February 21, 2022, at the age of 62.[1]
