Republic of Karelia
The Republic of Karelia, or Karelia,[9] is a republic of Russia in Northern Europe. The republic is a part of the Northwestern Federal District, and with area of 172,400 square kilometres (66,600 square miles), bordering Finland. Republic of Karelia have around 650 thousand residents.[10] Its capital is Petrozavodsk.
