Originally from Siena, he is best known for his work in destination wedding and editorial photography, and as the founder of Nova by Roberto Panciatici, Italy’s first and leading online academy for photographers and videographers. Panciatici is also an investor and co-founder of several brands in other industries. With over 15 years of experience, he has worked in more than 25 countries and is recognized internationally as a thought leader in modern wedding photography.[3]

Early Life and Background

Roberto Panciatici was born in Siena, Italy, and began his professional journey as a software analyst at the Consorzio del Monte dei Paschi di Siena.[4] In 2009, after a profound personal turning point, he radically changed his life to pursue creativity as both personal exploration and professional path. Photography allowed him to travel extensively, and he is currently based in Berlin, Germany.[5]

Career

In 2011, Panciatici began working internationally as a photographer, pioneering the concept of destination wedding photography in Italy and across Europe before it became an industry trend.[6] More than a pioneer, he introduced an entirely new vision: portrait-driven storytelling that emphasized emotional intimacy over traditional event coverage.[7]

He became known for creating a new trend within the wedding photography industry, focused on crafting cinematic, intimate, and dynamic portraits with world-class aesthetics. His work spans over 25 countries, including Japan, India, Cuba, France, Greece, Morocco, and more.[8] His signature style blends refined lighting, emotional depth, and fashion-forward composition. His photographs have been published in numerous magazines, including Vogue, The New York Times, Cosmopolitan, and featured by international media such as BBC Scotland, when he photographed a prominent Scottish influencer.[9]

His artistic evolution can be divided into two distinct phases: an early, moody and introspective approach, and a later, more spatial and fashion-influenced language. He defines this refined phase as Modern Elegance.[10]

Over the years, he also developed a distinct personal brand, becoming one of the first in his field to share his creative process on YouTube and to collaborate as an ambassador with both photographic and lifestyle brands.[11] His early understanding of the Creator Economy led him to inspire not only his industry but also a wider audience of professionals and dreamers alike.[12]

Education and Mentorship

Panciatici is an internationally recognized mentor and speaker. He has been invited to speak at conferences such as WPPI, Way Up North, and BodaF, where he shared the stage with acclaimed photographers including Martin Parr. His workshops and masterclasses have had a major impact on a new generation of photographers, thanks to his ability to blend emotional depth with business acumen.[13]

He is the founder of Nova by Roberto Panciatici, the first digital academy in Italy created by a professional photographer, offering training, coaching, and business development for photographers and videographers.[14]

Business Ventures

In addition to Nova, Roberto Panciatici is also the founder or co-founder of several ventures:

Nova Templates, offering elegant and functional website templates for creatives in the photography industry.[15]

The Sanctuary Berlin, a plant-based artisanal bakery that reinterprets Italian culinary traditions through vegan innovation, now expanding across Germany.

Content Creation and the Creator Economy

Roberto Panciatici actively shares his creative journey through the Just Rob Channel on YouTube. His content includes photography insights, behind-the-scenes reflections, and explorations of modern creative life. He sees content creation as a vital form of visibility, authenticity, and connection. In his vision, the Creator Economy is a necessary evolution of professional communication.[16]

Writing and Artistic Expression

Alongside photography, writing has always been a central part of Roberto Panciatici's identity. A lifelong lover of literature and poetry, he began writing at an early age, using words as a means of deep personal reflection and artistic expression.[17]

His approach to creativity, whether visual or written, is intimate, honest, and emotionally resonant. Across all mediums, his work reflects strong values, intentional direction, and a desire to communicate something meaningful. This is especially evident in Miraggi Urbani, his music and writing project, which combines urban storytelling, spoken word, and poetic structure, and is available on Spotify and other streaming platforms.[18]

Personal Life

Roberto Panciatici lives in Berlin with his family. He is the father of twin daughters and often reflects on the complexity of balancing creative ambition with personal responsibilities, especially within the demanding context of self-employment. His reflections on work-life balance, fatherhood, and creative integrity are often shared through his content and resonate deeply with his audience.[19]
