Saga is in northwest Kyūshū.^[2] Around 240,000 people live there.

History

Saga developed around Saga castle of the Nabeshima clan.^[1]

The city was the capital of Saga domain in the Edo period, and it was the capital of Hizen Province.^[3]

Every fall it holds the Saga International Balloon Fiesta.
