Saudia (Arabic: السعودية as-Suʿūdiyyah), formerly known as Saudi Arabian Airlines (Arabic: الخطوط الجوية العربية السعودية al-Ḫuṭūṭ al-Jawwiyyah al-ʿArabiyyah as-Suʿūdiyyah) is the flag carrier and largest airline of Saudi Arabia, based in Jeddah.[2][3] It was started in 1945 with the help of the United States government. [4] TWA managed the airline until the 1960s.[5] The airline joined SkyTeam in May 2012. As of 2015, Saudia goes to 126 cities worldwide.[6]
