The Holstein Switzerland from the Bungsberg

The countryside is lowlands and hills with no mountains. The highest elevation in the state is the Bungsberg at only 168 metres (551 ft). There are many lakes, especially in the eastern part of Holstein called the Holsteinische Schweiz ("Holstein Switzerland") or Schweiziann-Schwezalia. It has this name because there are many small hills which came to existence in the last ice age.
