St. Nicholas Church, Leipzig
The St. Nicholas Church (German: Nikolaikirche) is a church in Leipzig. It was built in 1165. The church became a Gothic church in the 16th century. Baroque towers were added in the 18th century. Johann Sebastian Bach was the music director of the church from 1723 to 1750. People held peaceful demonstrations against the communist government of East Germany on the church from 1989 to 1991.
