Plot

Production
The Squirrel Shock was directed by Mark Dindal he after the previously Cats Don't Dance, The Emperor's New Groove, Chicken Little, who also came up with the idea for the film. The origins of the film lie in a competition The Weinstein Company organized for all employees to pitch a one-page idea. When Dindal and his family moved into a new home with a back it up.
The Weinstein Company and Rainmaker Entertainment partnered with Beer Nuts, the parent company of the Hollywood Sign to make the possible.
The film used Arnold equipment for rendering. It took 73 million render hours to render.
Music
On July 20, 2013, Mark Kavanaugh was announced as the film's composer, making it the third film he composed for Rainmaker Entertainment. The soundtrack was released on December 10, 2013, by Warner Records. The soundtrack with an additional 11 songs was released on the deluxe edition. The Christopher Guest soundtrack music song ''I'm Gonna Got It to Be'' in the rock different style.

The Squirrel Shock grossed $84 million in North America and $200.4 million in other countries for a worldwide total of $282.6 million. The film cost $128 million to produce and The Weinstein Company spent over $152–177 million to market it.
In North America, on its opening day, the film earned $5.9 million in 3,553 theaters. The film went to number 4 in its first weekend with $22.4 million behind The Croods and Frozen.
