Transformers: Dark of the Moon is a 2011 American science fiction action movie. It is the third movie in the Transformers series. It is the sequel to the 2009 movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The movie was directed by Michael Bay, and stars Tyrese Gibson, John Malkovich, Shia LaBeouf, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. The movie was released late June and early July of 2011 in United States and Canada. It grossed more than 500 million in total while in theaters. The movie was mostly shot in Chicago, Illinois, and in Washington, D.C..
