Willie Rennie
William Cowan "Willie" Rennie (born 27 September 1967) is a Scottish politician. He is the current Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats. He became the Member of Parliament (MP) for Dunfermline and West Fife in February 2006. Rennie lost this seat to Labour in the May 2010 UK general election.[1] He was then appointed as a Special Government Adviser. He worked for the Scottish Secretaries of State Danny Alexander MP and then Michael Moore MP. He stood for the Scottish Parliament in the 2011 Scottish Parliament general election. He was elected as a member for the Mid Scotland and Fife region.[2] Soon afterwards he was elected as leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrat party.[3] He replaced Tavish Scott.
