Yerney Pinillo

Rafael Yerney Pinillo Ocoró (c. 1986) is a Colombian professional reserve police officer who has been the Second Gentleman of Colombia since August 7, 2022, as the partner of Vice President Francia Márquez. [1][2][3]

He was born in Buenaventura, Cauca Valley. He has been Francia Márquez’s partner since 2020.[4][5] In 2023, he graduated as a Professional Police Reserve Officer from the Colombian National Police.[6][7]

Second Gentleman of Colombia (2022-present)

On August 7, 2022, during the 32nd Colombian presidential inauguration, Yerney became the de facto Second Gentleman of Colombia.[8][9][10] He is the second man in this role and the first afro-colombian to hold it. His role as Second Gentleman has been more active than previous ones. In May 2023, he traveled with the vice president to Ghana, South Africa, and Kenya.[11][12][13] [14]

On August 15, 2023, he and his partner welcomed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the Vice Presidential House.[15][16] On August 18, 2023, they were joined by the Mayor of Cali, Alejandro Eder, and the First Lady of Cali, Taliana Vargas, to say farewell and thank the guests.[17][18] On July 20, 2025, he accompanied the Vice President for the third year in a row during the July 20th Parade, and he was described as her unconditional supporter.[19] In September 2025, he traveled with the Vice President to Abuja, Nigeria, to work on strengthening the diplomatic and economic ties between Nigeria and Colombia.[20][21][22]
