The game was released first on arcades in 2000, then later ported to the Dreamcast console in 2001. One year later, the game was also released in PlayStation 2 and GameCube (published by Accalim Entertainment). The game was followed by sequel, called The King of Route 66. Released on Arcade in 2002, one year later, the game was ported to the PlayStation 2 in 2003.

Gameplay

The gameplay in 18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker is to make it to the finish line with the truck cargo. Players are given a set amount of time limit, but player can ram into special vans that added an extra times in 3 seconds. There are several character to choose from, with unique truckes and attributes.

Player can starts out in New York City, New York and players can able travel across the United States of America, and the end in the San Francisco, California. After passed Stage 1, the games which gives a players to get a choice of trailer. One trailer is harder to haul, but provides a bigger payoff when the other choices is easier to provides a small payoff.
