Andrew Puzder

Andrew Franklin "Andy" Puzder (born July 11, 1950) is an American politician and businessman. He has been the 22nd United States Ambassador to the European Union since 2025. He was the chief executive of CKE Restaurants from 2000 until 2025. He received his Juris Doctor in 1978 from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis where he served as senior editor on the Law Review.

On December 8, 2016, Puzder was named as President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for United States Secretary of Labor.[1] He withdrew as the nominee on February 15, 2017.[2]

On January 22, 2025, President Trump announced his nomination of Puzder to serve as United States Ambassador to the European Union in his second administration.[3] He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on August 2, 2025 by a 53 to 44 vote.[4]
