Dhund (tribe)

The Dhund Abbasi also written as Dhund or Abbasi is a tribe concerned in Northern area of Pakistan. The Dhund Abbasi tribe traces its roots back to Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib, the uncle of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

They are mainly settled in Abbottabad District and Murree and it's surroundings.Apart from Abbottabad and Murree,They are also found in Rawalpindi and (Bagh District)and (Muzaffarabad District) of Azad Kashmir.[1][2]

The tribe speak several languages such as "Urdu", "Pahari" and"Hindko" languages.[3]

The word Dhund was an honorary name given to one of their forefathers.
