Ellesmere, Shropshire
Ellesmere (pronounced Ellz-meer) is a small market town in Shropshire, a county in England. The 2011 census recorded 3,835 people living there.

It is close to the border with Wales. The town centre is 17.6 miles (28.3 km) north of Shrewsbury, the county town. It is 8.6 miles (13.8 km) north-east of Oswestry and 12.2 miles (19.6 km) south-east of the Welsh town of Wrexham.
It is located right next to Ellesmere, one of the largest natural meres in England that is outside of the Lake District.
Famous engineer Thomas Telford lived in Ellesmere in the 1790s.
