Geastrum quadrifidum
Geastrum quadrifidum or the rayed earthstar,[1] or four-footed earthstar,[2] is an inedible species of mushroom. It is a species of Geastrum, or earthstar fungi. It was first described scientifically by Christian Hendrik Persoon in 1794. It is found in Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Australasia. The fungus is a saprobe. It feeds on dead wood and plant materials.[3]
