Heikrujam

Heikrujam (ꯍꯩꯀꯔ꯭ꯨꯖꯝ) is a family that belongs to the Khuman clan (ꯈꯨꯃꯟ ꯌꯦꯛ ꯁꯂꯥꯢ) of the Meitei ethnicity (Manipuri ethnicity).[1][2] People of this family mainly live in Manipur, India,[3][4][5][6] and also in Bangladesh.[7]

Royal lineage

The Heikrujam family is descended from Prince Haobam Ningoi Yaimaba (ꯍꯥꯎꯕꯝ ꯅꯤꯡꯒꯣꯢ ꯌꯥꯢꯃꯕ), the second son of King Yoithongai (ꯌꯣꯢꯊꯣꯡꯒꯥꯢ), a ruler of the Khuman dynasty. Two other surnames belonging to the Khuman clan are also descended from Prince Haobam Ningoi Yaimaba.[8]
