Hrabove (Ukrainian: Грабове; Russian: Грабово) is a village in Donetsk Oblast of eastern Ukraine.

History

The village was founded in 1787 on the left bank of the Mius River.

Since April 2014, the village has been at the epicenter of the actions of the DPR.

On 17 July 2014, Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was shot down and crashed into a field near Hrabove. All 298 people on board died. The flight was meant to go from Amsterdam, Netherlands to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.[1]

Population

According to the 2001 census, 1,000 people were living there.
