La Mesa, California
La Mesa is a city in San Diego County. It is 9 miles (14 km) east of Downtown San Diego in Southern California. The population was 61,121 at the 2020 census.[1] Its civic motto is "the Jewel of the Hills."

La Mesa was originally part of Rancho El Cajón, a Mexican era rancho grant owned by the family of Don Miguel de Pedrorena, a Californio ranchero and signer of the Californian Constitution.
